Song Buddy

Certain media players provide a few details about an artist, depending on the currently playing song. If you are an iTunes user, you can access such information only in the iTunes Store, where you are greeted by countless price tags. Song Buddy can provide you with any information you want about an artist, when you play one of his songs in iTunes. Furthermore, the application can suggest other artists, based on what songs you play.

Song Buddy can be used on Windows Vista or any later edition and you can also find it on the Apple App Store, for any iOS mobile platform. The application can be installed in a few moments and the entire operation involves only a few clicks. You need to have iTunes installed on your computer, to run this application, but you don't have to meet any other requirements or sacrifice too many resources.

The application works constantly in the background. When you play a song in iTunes, you may click Song Buddy's system tray icon to display the song's artist on a tabbed panel. Besides general information and pictures, you can also find a series of web links for the artist's web site, Wikipedia article, YouTube channel, Facebook page and more. Another links will take you to the artist's iTunes page, where you can buy albums or songs.

Selecting the Releases tab, on the application's compact interface, will display all albums released by the current artist. You may click different links to find an album on iTunes or to add it to a track list. Similar artists are displayed on a different tab. Depending on what you are currently playing, the application will present several artists, from the same musical genre. It is also possible to manually search for specific artists. The found artists are displayed with the same type of web links, for their web sites, Wikipedia articles and so on.
